Why I started the studio
Small businesses are usually offered two options: a do-it-yourself site they never have time to finish, or an agency engagement bigger than the problem. I started the studio to offer the practical middle — custom work, a clear scope, and a person nearby who answers for the result.
I also build and run my own web businesses: a community race platform that handles registrations and donations, a vacation-rental management company, and a design tool used by thousands. Running sites with real stakes shapes how I build yours — fast, dependable, and focused on the action that pays.
Every site gets its own home on the web and a simple editor for the information that changes. Most updates never need me, and that’s by design. When your business needs something new, it gets added without rebuilding everything.
A fair question about a one-person studio is what happens if I am not around. The answer is built into how I work: the site runs on ordinary hosting under your own domain, the content lives in your editor, and the code is standard and documented. Nothing about it is proprietary to me. If you ever needed to hand the site to another developer, it would be an unremarkable Tuesday for them — and I would help with the handoff.
Cayuga Web Studio is a founder-led practice based in the Auburn area. The tools, hosting, and maintenance practices recommended to clients are the same ones the studio’s own companies depend on every day — kept deliberately lean, so a small business never carries unnecessary software or process.
